XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 12/27

The grooming yesterday yielded marvelous results, and many skiers enjoyed the clear, sunny sky despite the cool temps! Groomer Mike will snow comb all the trails this morning. The trails are in excellent condition for skating and classic. The snow we have gotten in the past couple of weeks has been some of the best quality snow there is, as it has stayed soft and fresh and not turned into boiler plate. Warmer temps today should make for a fantastic day of skiing!

Forecast:

Today: Occasional snow showers. High 11F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 50%. About one inch of snow expected.

Tonight: Considerable clouds this evening. Some decrease in clouds late. Low -2F. Winds light and variable.

Tomorrow: Cloudy. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High 12F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge Cafe lunch special is the Classic Cuban! Sliced ham, provolone, sliced pickles, and dijon mustard, grilled on a ciabatta bun with Great Lakes Chips and a pickle. Classic and Veggie Chili served with a multi grain roll are always a hit, too.

It’s a great day to be outdoors in Northern Michigan!

-Mariah, Stu, Bob, Lynne, Fran, Matt, Kelsey, Alex, Dodge, Kim, Missy, Erin, Mike, Dana, Butch, Brian and the crew
