Even though our snow remains ample, the little warm-up we’ve experienced over the last couple of days has left the base a bit soft, slow and unruly today. We’ve decided to close lifts early so crews can prep for the return of cold temps and snow tonight. The North Face, Backyard and Ridge will close at noon with the remaining downhill trails closing at 4:30pm. This also means that race league is also cancelled for tonight.

With snow and temps below 28-degrees forecasted to return around 10pm, crews will spend the overnight hours making some snow and grooming so that everything is back to its normal, beautiful corduroy self when the lifts start turning Friday at 9am as we head to the holiday weekend back at regular hours. Credit where credit is due though, Old Man Winter put in a lot of overtime during the holidays so perhaps we can’t fault him for taking the last couple of days off. Rest assured, he’ll be back in the office tonight and the foreseeable future.

TERRAIN PARK AFFICIONADOS: Check out the new quarter pipe on Little Vincent, plus new 10ft and 15ft jumps. Jester’s Alley, features a 5ft jump, 10 ft. flat double barrel rail, 12 ft. square down rail, 12 ft. down single bar and dance floor. Lots of new builds on Basin Street, including a 20 ft propane tank spine, 20ft tower tube, 30ft flat down flat rail,30 ft down rail, 30ft rainbow rail, 21ft flat rail, 20ft A-frame box, 20ft battleship box.
