XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/17
The ski conditions on the John Deere loop was terrific yesterday. Trail Doctor Mike worked on extending the the loop with the snow spreader yesterday, and will continue today. He will also snow comb and reset classic tracks on the loop where needed this morning. We received dusting of snow last night and it is currently snowing, which continues to add to the snow pack. The Rolling Hills, Manitou, Wild Turkey, Mackinaw Cut, Trapper’s Cabin, and Adventure are open for rock skiing today. The practice area still has plenty of coverage for ski demos and lessons. Snowshoeing is welcome on all the trails as well.
Forecast:
Today: Light snow this morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High 24F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%.
Tonight: Clear to partly cloudy. Low 18F. Winds WSW at 15 to 25 mph.
Tomorrow: Partly cloudy skies during the morning hours will become overcast in the afternoon. High 33F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph.
Stop by and demo some skis! Free equipment demos are available all day, every day. Our sale on XC ski packages and cross country ski clothing continues on great deals from Fischer, Salomon, Smartwool, and more.

Join us this Saturday, January 20th for Stretch & Slide, a Yoga Ski Retreat!
Stretch and Slide begins at 10:00am with a yoga class at the Gerrish Township Municipal Building (1 mile south of XC Ski HQ), and continues with a full day ski/snowshoe rental and group lesson at 11:45am (facilities pass included!). Also included after the lesson is a homemade chili lunch (classic or vegetarian) at the Stone Turtle Day Lodge Café at Cross Country Ski Headquarters. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the serenity of the beautiful Michigan winter forests on the pristinely groomed Headquarters ski trails, or relaxing with a mug of hot cocoa by the Stone Turtle Day Lodge fireplace!
