XC Ski Headquarters Cross Country Ski Report – 01/22

After a really fun weekend of skiing, today’s weather report is not all that promising for great conditions. The John Deere Loop, which was snow combed yesterday and has tracks set, will be open for classic skiing only today, as the warm temps and mixed precipitation will create too soft of a snow surface for skating. The practice area is open for skate and classic, and is still in great shape for ski demos and lessons. Luckily the forecast turns to snow tomorrow!

Forecast:

Today: Temps nearly steady in the mid 30s. Winds ENE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch.

Tonight: Periods of rain. Some icy conditions developing overnight. Some sleet may mix in. Low 27F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precip 90%.

Tomorrow: Snow during the morning will taper off and give way to cloudy skies during the afternoon. Morning high of 31F with temps falling to near 20. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
